Is it Ok To Put Content Behind Tabs? Google Says “Yes”

In a question answered on  Twitter , Google’s Gary Ilyes said, it’s ok to add tabbed content in mobile-first world and it will be given full-weight contrary to desktop content. In the mobile-first world content hidden behind the “Read More” tabs will be given full weight by Google’s search engine crawlers, however this is either devalued or not indexed on desktop. Two years ago  Google had said  that content within tabs and click to expand might not be either ranked or indexed. John Mueller had said, “content within click to expand menus or tabs could be discounted as Google knows it is being hidden from users. As a result of this, the page may not be ranked for content by Google within those sections as it knows users do not view content by default.” Source

Donald Trump elected President of the United States

US Republican Donald Trump beat Democrat Hillary Clinton to win the election that will make him the 45th President of the United States, AP reported. After a long and bitterly-fought campaign, Trump today engendered a shock upset by winning 276 electoral votes, six more than the 270 needed to win the Presidency. His opponent, former Secretary of State Clinton, won a fewer-than-expected 218 votes. Results are still coming in from some states, but they no longer matter. Crucial for Trump were wins in the 'swing states' Ohio, North Carolina and Florida. 'Swing states' are states that don't consistently vote for any of the two major parties. Unlike his rival Clinton, who has served as a US Senator and Secretary of State, Trump has never before held public office. The 70-year-old Republican was, until the campaign began, famous for his abrasive hosting of The Apprentice, a reality television series. He's chairman and president of the Trump Organization, a c...

Wondering what's up with local search rankings lately? Columnist Joy Hawkins has the scoop on a recent local algorithm update that local SEO experts are calling 'Possum.' For those of you wondering what “Possum” is, it’s the name we in the local search community decided to give the massive Local algorithm update that happened September 1, 2016. Phil Rozek suggested the name, pointing out that it is fitting since many business owners think their Google My Business listings are gone, when in fact they are not.
